Arterberry Maresh, Dundee Hills, Pinot Noir, 2018

A bottle of wineDescription automatically generated with medium confidenceThe Producer

Arterberry Maresh was one of the founding families of Oregon’s Pinot noir, being only the only the fifth vineyard in Oregon to plant the varietal. The current winemaker, Jimmy Maresh has been described as a wunderkind. He crafts his wine with an instinctive ‘touch’ which he applies to incredible effect. His wines achieve a knife-edge balance which satisfy the most ardent of Old-World Pinotphiles but with a flavour profile unique to the volcanic soils of Dundee.

The Wine

Pale ruby-purple, the 2018 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills takes its time to open, unfolding slowly to cherries, boysenberries, floral perfume and earthy nuances. The palate is elegant with pure fruit character framed by dusty tannins and rounded acidity, finishing long and nuanced.
