Bree Stock, Oregon’s first MV, shares 3 white wines for summer

8E5A1611-for-web (002)

July marks the middle month of summer and an opportunity to rinse the best of the weather with lots of outdoor entertaining.

It goes without saying, the unique character of Oregon’s wine perfectly matches the social occasions (and menus!) to see out summer — think picnics, barbecues and family gatherings.

Today, we’re sharing a few bottles readily available via online retailers, selected by an expert: Oregon’s very first Master of Wine, Bree Stock.

Bree hosted an evening of Oregon Wine earlier this year in Bermondsey, London, taking participants through a delicious flight of wines (and a few surprises!).

Originally from Australia and now settled in Oregon, Bree’s passion for small scale, family run, sustainable viticulture was shared at the evening tasting and also during an insightful Earth Day webinar

Here, we share more information about the bottles Bree curated — and links so you can try them at home, whilst it still feels like summer!

3 (3)

A to Z – Pinot Gris 2021, £19.70.

A to Z is a widely available wine label here in the UK. This time, a bright, crisp white was selected by Oregon’s very own MV. Perfect for sunset drinks, or with a seafood lunch.

1 (5)

Domaine Drouhin Oregon – Roserock Chardonnay 2020, £33.99

With Bree Stock’s passion for sustainable agriculture at the core of her expertise, it’s no surprise Domaine Drouhin was one of her choices. With notes of lemon curd, vanilla,  pear and peach — this is a beautiful French oak aged Chardonnay to savour.

2 (3)

The Eyrie – Original Vines Pinot Gris 2017, £39

This special bottle of Pinot Gris credits its unique flavour profile to Eyrie’s respect for natural, organic processes and time. Herbaceous and fresh, you’ll love sharing this bottle over a light lunch or dinner.
